The capital city of Copenhagen is connected to every major European city by rail. International trains also connect with ferries. There are a number of non-stop express trains which offer newspapers and refreshment for which it is important to reserve a seat. There are fare reductions for the elderly, as well as on certain days. The Nord Tourist Pass allows unlimited travel within Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Interail (under 26) and Interail Senior passes are valid in Denmark.
Road
All of the major Eauropean road networks connect with ferry services to Copenhagen. Because of the way Denmark is situated, ferries are regularly used to connect the roads. Where there is no railway, country buses are in operation. There are no tolls on the motorways but there aren't any gas stations on the motorways, either. Those over 21 may rent a car, and a national driving license is required.
Cycling
Denmark's transportation system has been wonderfully designed to consider the cyclist, and cycling tours can be arranged all over the country. Bikes can be taken on ferries, trains, buses, and domestic flights.
